520 posts · Joined 2015. #1 · Sep 6, 2016. My sons 570 is getting harder and harder to start when cold. It's been acting this way for a while, but it's getting worse and worse. It takes quite a bit of cranking and throttle to get it to start, then it needs throttle to keep it running until it warms up for a minute.2017 Ranger 900 XP Wont Start. Help 2017 Ranger 900xp won't start. My ranger doesn't get used a lot. 82 hours on it. It's a yard work and neighborhood cruiser. Yesterday I went to start it and the battery was dead after sitting for 4-5 weeks. I put the charger on it and got it started. From there it should hold pressure and the pump should run while cranking to keep pressure to the system. Water in the fuel will act like yours also. If you do then you know your ignition is working. My Ranger 1000 wont start, of course the diesel fuel that someone put in the tank has something to do with it.
